This qualification is a good introductory course for a wine enthusiast who wants to learn about wine in a more structured and systematic way. Tasting the basic styles/ types of wines, food & wine pairing, and storage / service of wines form a fundamental part of the course.

WSET Level 2 Award in Wines and Spirits (QCF)


The WSET Level 2 Award in wines and spirits will provide excellent all-round knowledge of all product categories in the field of alcoholic drinks, together with the theory of tasting technique. This qualification is intended for those who have little or no previous knowledge of the broad range of wines and spirits. It underpins job skills and competencies in customer service and sales functions of hospitality, retail and wholesale industries. It is also useful for those who have a general interest in the subject.

  • Learn the characteristics of the principle grape varieties.

  • Wine producing regions of the world.

  • Describe the style & quality of still wines made from regionally important grapes & countries.
